February 27th Lunch & Learn: Immigration Issues 101 for startups and small businesses

The MEWS welcomes attorney Dana Bucin at February 27th’s Lunch & Learn. Dana will discuss how to tap international talent, especially in the high-tech fields; how to attract foreign investments in your venture; how to assist international students and graduates in navigating the work visa and green card system; and how to retain foreign talent locally.

Partner (Immigration Law) at Murtha Cullina LLP and Honorary Consul of Romania to CTDana Bucin is an Immigration attorney and the Chair of the Murtha Cullina Immigration Practice. She represents businesses and individual clients with a wide range of immigration matters, including green card applications, work visas, student visas, foreign investor visas, asylum, naturalization, religious work visas, as well as various other employment and family-based immigration matters. As an immigration attorney with a business/corporate legal background, Dana’s experience includes counseling foreign investors and entrepreneurs on setting up businesses in the U.S. or investing in existing U.S. ventures and obtaining a visa or green card based on such investment or entrepreneurship pursuant to the E-2, L-1 “new office”, H-1B “entrepreneur” and EB-5 visa options. Dana regularly provides multi-lingual legal representation in English, Spanish, French, and Romanian. She also has a basic knowledge of Italian, German, Hungarian and Latin. In 2018, Dana was appointed to serve as the Honorary Consul of Romania to Connecticut. She has an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell. In 2016, the Connecticut Immigrant and Refugee Coalition recognized Dana as an Annual Immigrant Day Honoree and SuperLawyers listed her as a top rated attorney for Immigration Law. She has also previously received the “40 under 40” award from the Hartford Business Journal, and the “New Leaders in the Law” and the “Women in the Law High Achievers” award from the Connecticut Law Tribune. Dana received her J.D. from Boston University and her B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University, summa cum laude.
